Hello friends, not many of you know that I am a huge Indochina War buff. I recently got back to some hex and counters games thanks to Jim better known as Oriskany at the Beasts of War (or OnTableTop as it is called now - thanks political correctness) or The SitrepPodcast. So we were playing some Valor & Victory games concentrating on the Dien Bien Phu siege that took place in the northern part of modern Vietnam known at that time as Tonkin. So far we have played one game which simulated a French patrol trying to gather some intel and locate Viet Minh positions around the base. Second game concentrated on the Viet Minh assault on Strongpoint Beatrice-1 that was held by the 9th company of the13th Demi-Brigade of Foreign Legion. Historically Strongpoint Beatrice was the one that got overrun first on the night of 13/14th of March 1954.
